Adam Cave leads a small dojo/training group in Raleigh, North Carolina (Raleigh RyuTe Karate). He began his martial arts training over twenty years ago at the encouragement of friends in college. What started out as a fun addition to other athletic pursuits has since become a life-long passion. Adam initially studied traditional Taekwon-do (he holds a second degree black belt in this style) as well as Okinawan kobudo. However, in the late 90’s, at the urging of his sensei Sherri Lesch, he switched his attention and training to RyuTe RenMei, the style of classical Okinawan karate taught by the late Taika Seiyu Oyata (1930-2012). Adam feels privileged to have received a third degree black belt directly from Oyata, whom he studied with in numerous seminars over the years. He is also grateful for the inspired instruction of the late Tashi Jim Logue as well as Kyoshi Gary Shull, Sensei Tim Blake and the entire South Carolina Shihandai.
Adam, I am inspired by your ability to express the Way of training through fluidity of motion, the words flow within themselves. I am happy for you and your journey.
Thank you for the kind thoughts Sensei. I have been privileged to train with some amazing instructors and I certainly include you in that group. You were there for me at the right time in my life and may well be the reason I am still training today.
